Description

NAWCTSD intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract to Hamilton Sunstrand of Windsor Locks, CT, for the development and delivery of the Virginia Class Integrated Low Pressure Electrolyzer (ILPE) Front Panel Simulator (FPS) with integrated part task trainers. The ILPE represents a radical departure in design and operation from the current class of oxygen generators in the fleet. It is entirely microprocessor controlled and the vast majority of the indicators are electronic vice mechanical devices. There are numerous inputs that require simulation to create a viable FPS. A key component is the ability to run the tactical software and include mechanical part task trainers that were designed by the tactical developer. Hamilton Sunstrand is the developer of the tactical ILPE and has developed software to test the functionality of the unit over the life of its development. This software interacts with the tactical software, supplied in firmware, to replicate the actions of the ILPE to the operators. Any suppliers capable of providing this item exactly as described are invited to identify themselves to the contract specialist, Mr. Alan Wright.
