Description
MARKET RESEARCH. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. This request is for information only and should not be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any items or services, nor for the Government to pay for the information received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) is seeking domestic sources of information on current or near term technology that can be applied to the rapid destruction or consumption of chemical and biological warfare agents. The focus of this inquiry is predominately upon, but is not necessarily limited to, chemical or biological warfare agents being carried as the payload of low flying aircraft or cruise missiles over friendly territory. Payload sizes may be up to 1000 kilograms. The aircraft or cruise missile delivery vehicles will predominantly be traveling at subsonic speeds, though supersonic speeds may be encountered, also. The primary envisioned concept of operations would involve defensive measures being delivered to the agent-laden vehicle via surface-to-air or air-to-air missiles. Objectives of the engagement would be to rapidly consume all, or a significant percentage of, the agent payload in situ without inflicting unnecessary collateral damage to friendly assets that may be on the ground below, or in the vicinity of, the engagement. Domestic firms capable of providing this technology are invited to respond to this notice. Company literature, brochures, or capability summaries should address the technology and the company's ability to provide it. Proprietary Information should be marked accordingly. Responses are requested by 1 April 2002. Company literature should also include a Point of Contract and business size. Hard copy responses should be addressed to: Contracting Officer, Attn: XDS11D/Bldg 183/Room 102, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, Virginia 22448-5100 or to fax number (540)653-7088. Electronic responses or questions may be sent to the e-mail address xds11@nswc.navy.mil.
