Description

Social Security Administration intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the RFQ. This request for quote number is SSA-RFQ-02-0095. This request for quotation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-04. Quotations in response to this RFQ shall be submitted by March 08,2002, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, addressed to Attn: Kim Anderson, Social Security Administration, Office of Acquisitions and Grants, 1710 Gwynn Oak Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21207. Quotations can be faxed to (410) 966-9310. This request is for cables that will be used for individual and organizational relocations, new installs and upgrades of existing cables in Social Security Administration Headquarters complex in Baltimore (Woodlawn), Maryland 21235. Line Item 1, Quantity: 4,000 each, Item Description: Category 5E Patch Cables, 25 foot long, Snagless Boots, 350 MHz, 4 pair, blue in color Plenum, P/N 241SB-25. Line Item 2, Quantity: 10 rolls. Item Description: 2 strand fiber m/m Plenum cable, 2000 foot putups, Mohawk - P/N M92043-2000. Line Item 3, Quantity: 150 rolls. Item Description: Cat-6 cable, 4-pair Plenum, Red in color, P/N 1-219567-5. Line Item 4, Quantity: 500 each. Item Description: Cat-6 patch cables. Red in color Plenum, 5 foot long, P/N AMP-219888-5. Line Item 5, Quantity: 500 each. Item Description: Cat-6 patch cables, red in color Plenum, 10 foot long, P/N AMP-1-219888-0. Line Item 6, Quantity: 500 each. Item Description: Cat-6 patch cables, red in color, Plenum 15 foot long, P/N AMP 1-219888-5. Line Item 7, Quantity: 500 each. Item Description: Cat-6 Patch Cables, Red in color, Plenum 30 foot long, P/N AMP 3-219888-0. Line item 8, Quantity: 2,000 each. Item Description: Cat-6 connectors, P/N AMP 1375055-1. Cables shall be brand name or equal in accordance with FAR 52.211-6. Full and complete descriptive literature for "equal" product shall be provided. The Government reserves the right to require product samples in order to evaluate "equal" products. The Government will award an order resulting from this request for quotation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government based on quoted price for the brand-name parts or acceptable "equal" products. A written notice of award or acceptance of quote, mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful quoter within the time for acceptance specified in the quote, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. The following Provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors-Commercial Items (tailored) apply to this acquisition: (b)(1) - (b) 9, (b) 11, (c), (d), (f) and (g). There are no addendums to these provisions. Offerors are required to complete and include a copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offerors Representation and Certification--commercial items, with their quote. The provisions at FAR Part 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items apply to this acquisition. Addendum to FAR 52,212-4 (o) warranty: add "the Government will accept the contractors commercial warranty." The following provisions at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items apply to this acquisition: (a)(1), (a)(2), (b)(11), through (b)(16), (b)(18), (b)(21)(b)(25). Copies of required FAR clauses can be obtained by logging on to www.arnet.gov. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Agency.
