- Description
- This is a synopsis for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as Request for Quotation number 0036835, the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-01 . This solicitation is made under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 421690 with a business size standard of 100 million dollars. This will be a Firm-Fixed price contract and is a Brand Name or Equal request for seven hundred and twenty five (725) Handheld Radiation Monitors (HRM) which are manufactured by Sensor Technology Engineering, Incorporated. The specifications for the HRM are as follows: Gamma Detector - Cesium Iodide scintillator 0.5" diameter x 1.5" length; Overall size - 8.3" x 2.0" x 1.2"; Weight - 13oz; waterproof to 66ft; Operating temperature range 5 to 122 degrees; Alarm types - single digit and multiple segment LED display; Neutron detector - Helium 3; Gamma-ray low energy cutoff ~45 KeV; Battery - 3 volt lithium size 2/3A; Storage temperature range -10 to 122 degrees; Response time <1 second; Search capability - duty cycle based audio tone or cycle based vibrator. The Contractor must provide complete equipment specifications along with their price quote. The following FAR clauses and provisions are incorporated by reference and apply to this acquisition: FAR provision 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items (Oct 2000), FAR clause 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions- Commercial Items (Feb 2002). FAR clause 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items (Dec 2001) . Each offeror shall include a completed copy of the FAR provisions at 52-212-3, Offeror Representation and Certifications (Feb 2002) with its offer. This provision can be obtained via the Internet at http: //www.far.arnet.gov/far. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which, if timely received shall be considered by the agency. The Government will award to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to this solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Offerors will be evaluated in accordance with FAR provision 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items (Jan 1999). The following factors, in descending order of importance shall be used to evaluate offers: quality of merchandise offered and price quoted. The multiple destination sites will be FOB and shall be identified in the solicitation which shall be made available with this RFQ notice at www.fedbizopps.gov on Wednesday March 6, 2002.
