Description

SYNOPSIS: Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for the Washington, District of Columbia Department of Public Works Project STP 9999(985). The project consists of roadway resurfacing, street lighting improvements, drainage work, and miscellaneous work at 12 sites. The work includes removal of existing street lighting, abandoned utilities, concrete curb, pavement, and other items. The work also includes pavement milling, placement of aggregate base, asphalt paving, construction of reinforced concrete base and surface courses, drainage improvements, installation of stone curbing, construction of concrete sidewalks, pavement markings, street lighting, and utility work. The project price is expected to fall between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. Bid documents are scheduled for issue on or about March 15, 2002. Bids will be due on or about April 16, 2002. Interested parties should telephone 800-892-8776 or 703-404-6288 to order bid documents and to verify availability of the bid documents. There is no fee for bid documents. Final issue and due dates and the list of planholders will be posted on our website under -Procurement Information-. Internet address: www.efl.fhwa.dot.gov. All requests for bid documents will be mailed first class. It is strongly recommended that requests for bid documents be recieved 7 calendar days before bid opening to ensure reciept of requested materials. Requests for -faxing- or overnight mailing will not be accepted. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantages Business Enterprises (DBEs) The Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing and bonding assistance for transportation payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at the prime rate.
