Description

This is a notice of intent to negotiate with Finisar Corporation, on an other than full and open competitive basis for one (1) Performance Analysis Test Unit for Fiber Optic (F/O) Testing, one (1) Storage Area Network (SAN) Performance Analysis for Fiber Channel Loop and Fabric Environments Software, one (1) Portable cart to install the Performance Analysis Test Unit for F/O Testing, one (1) SC Connector Multimode Single GBIC Interface Kit, and two (2) SC Connector Multimode Dual GBIC Interface Kits. This requirement supports the F/A-18 E/F aircraft program at the Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded for the procurement of these items. This requirement is being procured under statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition, 10 U.S.C. Section 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Finisar Corporation is the only known firm that manufactures a F/O analyzer that can operate in a multi-protocol environment while testing network operations. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Responses to this notice must be made within fifteen (15) days after this notice is posted electronically, and should include company name, point of contact, address, area code and telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, and company literature. Consideration of the responses is solely within the discretion of the Government, generally for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
