- Description
- The Smithsonian Institution intends to contract for multi-media/audiovisual design/production services and anticipates making multiple awards related to five (5) types of services: 1) film & video; 2) audio & sound environments; 3) interactive media; 4) on-line technologies; and 5) special environments. Interested firms may submit offers for one or more types of service in each of the five areas listed above, and need not demonstrate capability to perform all services listed in each area. Contracts awarded will be open quantity with one base year with four (4) optional years, to be exercised at the sole option of Smithsonian Institution. Work for specific exhibition projects will be awarded by fixed price task order contracts issued under the open quantity base contract(s). Smithsonian Institution anticipates contracting with a variety of firms so that requirements for small, moderate or large projects can be met for various museums, galleries, research centers and zoo exhibitions. These services may be related to exhibitions that may be temporary, permanent or traveling and topics may include but not be limited to the following: art, culture, history, science, air and space, and technology. Projects will vary in size and scope and will include complete audiovisual productions, post-production services, multimedia planning and production, and miscellaneous audiovisual services such as research, scriptwriting, or cinematography. The open quantity base contracts will be negotiated to provide either specific work elements in support of projects that are planned and produced in-house, or projects that encompass all audiovisual requirements. All parties are advised that there is no minimum guarantee for the base year or any one option year and that task order projects may or may not be competed at the discretion of Smithsonian Institution. All Offerors must submit complete written hardcopy technical and business proposals for evaluation; proposals submitted by means other than hardcopy will not be considered. All parties interested in receiving a copy of the Request For Proposal number F0236SOL0012 must submit a written request citing the solicitation number, company name, contact person and title, street address, telephone and facsimile numbers and E-mail address to Smithsonian Institution, Office of Contracting, 750 9th Street, NW, Suite 6200, MRC 907, Washington, D.C. 20560-0907 ATTN: Code 39, or by facsimile transmission at (202) 275-1263. Large businesses will be required to submit an acceptable small business subcontracting plan if selected for award. Due date and time information will be included in the solicitation package. Smithsonian Institution anticipates issuing the solicitation on or about April 1, 2002.
