- Description
- The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) is a Department of Defense field activity operating under the direction, authority, and control of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for personnel Support, Families, and Education. DoDEA provides education to eligible Department of Defense (DoD) military and civilian dependents from preschool through grade 12 with two distinct programs. The DoD Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) system serves an estimated 36,400 students in 70 schools located in seven states, Guam, and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The DoD Dependent Schools (DoDDS) system serves approximately 76,500 students in 154 schools in 13 countries. The DoDEA Commercial Activity Program Office (CAPO) is conducting a competitive sourcing study utilizing OMB Circular A-76. The purpose of the study is to determine the most efficient and effective method of providing Information Technology (IT) services, including telecommunications services world wide within DoDEA. The study will determine whether commercial activities should be performed under contract or with in-house government personnel. This is the first Sources Sought synopsis and Request for Information to determime industry interest and capability. There is NO SOLICITATION available at this time. The sources sought announcement is issued for the sole purpose of conducting market research in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10. Industry is invited to indicate if they would be interested in a worldwide contract or could better provide services on an area (Europe, Pacific, US) or country level. The study will include (but is not limited to) such services as hosting domain services; network upgrades, maintenance, backups and systems administration; IT security; circuits maintenance; database administration; e-support to e-mail applications; research, evaluate and order new hardware and software; conducting needs assessment; web development and monitoring; VTC; risk analysis; vulnerability analysis; PC hardware support; development of applications; configuration management; telephones services; and internet interface. Interested parties must submit a brief description of their company's business size (small, large etc.) and a description of similar services offered to government and/or commercial customers. Additionally, furnish a company's point(s) of contact including address, e-mail, telephone number/FAX number, and the company's web-page address, as applicable.
