Description

ISSUE DATE: 03/15/01. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for Chase Hall B Annex 3rd Floor Asbestos Tile Removal at the USCG Academy, New London, CT (New London County). The project consists of complete removal and disposal of cove base and carpet glued down to asbestos containing floor tile, removal of asbestos containing floor tile and mastic, installing new vinyl composition tile, cove base and stair treads; removal and disposal of a 16? wood utility ramp and provide and install a new aluminum ramp; prepare and paint corridor walls ceilings door frames and window trim; and patching plaster wall; and incidental related work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS WORK AND WILL BE INCORPORATED AS AN EVALUATION FACTOR FOR A BEST VALUE PROCUREMENT. For purposes of determining small business size standards, the applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 235990 with a size standard of $12 million. Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 03/15/02. The date for receipt of quotations is scheduled for 04/10/02 at 4:00 pm. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
