- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to purchase two Automated High Resolution Gel Permeation Chromatography Systems made by Gilson, Inc. for the rapid method of analysis for PCBs and persistent pesticides in human serum. The Gilson 215 Liquid Handler is the only known system that can be customized and coupled with Gilson High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) which is used by the CDC. CDC believes that its requirements are met by only one provider; however, all responsible sources that can meet the requirements listed herein may submit a quote which will be considered by the agency. Description of the system: The 215 Liquid Handler is a fast accurate single-probe instrument with dual function sample injection and fraction collection from the same bed; Flexible large capacity bed with more than 30 standard racks; Custom software and racks to meet demands of applications; Direct injection into HPLC or LC/MS with optional injection module; and, Custom or standard racks available to support any laboratory. Features include: Open architecture for easy access to racks; Liquid level sensing probe that minimizes the risk of cross-contamination from carry-over; Versatility of using up to 480 (13x100mm) test tubes, seventeen 96 well and seventeen 384* well microplates; Flexibility of utilizing microplates and test tubes on the same bed; Durable, chemically resistant tray and case protects against damage from spills; Microsoft Windows icon-based software with a graphical tray editor makes automated setup fast and easy; and, Accommodates sample vessels such as microplates, microcentrifuge vials, test tubes, scintillation vials and bottles.
