- The Department of Justice intends to procure a AS&E Micro-Dose Xray Inspection System, including Transmission Xray, Single Backscatter(Z) Xray 2X-4X Digital Zoom, Reverse Video, Density Expand, Penetration 19mm of Solid Steel or Equivalent, 66cm(36" Conveyor, Baggage Extension Tray, Console Mount, Installation & Operator Training, and Edge Enhancement, from American Science and Engineering. This procurement will be on a SOLE SOURCE BASIS, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR Part 13). Any responses received as a result of this notice of intent, shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will NOT be considered as either proposals or bids. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based upon any written responses received as a result of this notice, is solely within the descretion of the Government.*****
