Description
SF 254 and SF 255 Applications are invited from engineering firms to provide professional services for design services and construction period services for the seismic retrofit and renovation of Building 6 at the American Lake Division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. Primary design scope will be the whole building seismic retrofitting and the slab to slab renovation of approximately 20,000 square feet of existing space on the two main floors of B 6. The renovated space will be designed to function as a integrated space for outpatient functions and medical administration functions. The design work scope also includes approximately 10,000 square feet of crawl space. This portion of the work includes design of the abatement of asbestos containing materials, lead based paint, and other possible hazardous materials. Design disciplines will include seismic/structural, mechanical, hazardous material abatement, electrical, and architectural interiors. The A/E contractor must provide bid-ready design documents 240 calendar days after A/E contract award. The A/E contractor will responsible for the proper preparation of drawings for inclusion the digital Web site at the Federal Governments Business Opportunities System website. Evaluation and selection will be based on qualifications stated under CBD Numbered Note 24. The selected firm or organization must have significant experience in the design of whole building seismic retrofitting and the renovation existing medical facility. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the credentials of the firm and assigned staff to support the study scope. Special qualifications and selection of firms will place emphasis on design capabilities of firms with previous experience in the seismic retrofitting and renovation of existing hospital facilities. The cost range for construction is $3 Million to $5 Million. The applicable NAICS code is 54131. This is not a Request for Proposal. Point of Contact is William W. Thompson (253) 589 4027. A current SF 254, representing and differentiating between the personnel, experience and capabilities of all involved offices, must be included with the application for each proposed consultant's office involved. No firm or organization will be considered unless an application consisting of the completed SF 254 and SF 255 and other evidence of experience and capabilities the applicant considers relevant is submitted to following address: Interested firms should submit two copies of SF 254 and SF 255, no later than 4PM PST March 29, 2002 to William W.
