- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO.1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR Electromagnetic Software. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide an answers to the following questions: Question 1 - Do you have any restrictions on the operating system platform that you'11 be running it on? In other words, can you run under Windows NT, Unix, etc? Answer 1 - For small size problems where number of unknowns may be small (< 3000) one should be able to run on Windows 98 or 2000. For larger size problems where number of unknowns are more than 15,000, one should be able to run on SGI 2000 platform. Question 2 - Do you have a graphical user requirements/restrictions? Answer 2 - The software must give output results in data ASCII file format as well as in graphical format. Question 3 - Do you have requirements on the output format? Do you require graphical output as well as text output? Answer 3 - The software must give output results in data ASCII file format as well as in graphical format. Question 4 - Are there any import restrictions on this code? Answer 4 - There is no known import restrictions Question 5 - Do you have an idea of the maximum cost allowed for this code? Answer 5 - Can not release Government Estimate for this solicitation. Question 6 - Are any other details besides those given in the link attachment titles "Software Specifications" available? Answer 6 -- There are no other details besides those given in the attachment file. General requirement of the software is that it should be able to handle antennas embedded in a curved substrates where one can use exact Method of Moments along with high frequency approximations. Question 7 - Is the required software available as a readymade off the shelf product from any source, or will have to be developed from scratch? Answer 7 -- The software shold be ready to use for design and analysis purpose. Question 8 - Will you be providing the manual procedure/method to carry out the analysis and high frequency techniques such as Physical Optics (PO)/Geometrical Theory of Diffraction, etc? Answer 8 -- The software should be able to activate PO/GTD option atomatically, if asked to do so, for regions which are far away from the antenna. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 02/22/02. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office 97 format and reside on the World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
