Description

Furnish laboratory animal bedding, (per NCTR Specification dated March 2002), composed of heat treated hardwood chips, (maple, birch or beech or any mixture thereof), to be used as contact bedding for laboratory animals. Packaged in non-perforated paper bags, bag dimensions 28 x 18 x 8 inches. Finished product to be palletized and stretch wrapped, using a 4-way entry pallet made of hardwood and to industry standard of 40" x 48". Standard pallet packed with 50 bags per pallet, stacked in a 5 block, 10 rows high. Shipping: secure load at rear of trailer using a method that prevents the load from shifting and prevents the bags from falling from the trailer when the doors are opened. Contractor will be required to provide for First Article Testing and approval, 6 bags (approximately 40 pounds each) of bedding material. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) is scheduled to be released on or about March 19, 2002. Simplified procurement procedures will be utilized. Firm fixed price, indefinite-delivery/quantity purchase order to be issued. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered.
