- Description
- The U.S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees, NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the USCGC ABBIE BURGESS (WLM-553), a 175 Foot Coastal Buoy Tender. The Abbie Burgess is homeported in Rockland, Maine. All work will be performed at the vessels hompier. The performance period will be 42 calendar days with a start date of 29 July 2002. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC ABBIE BURGESS (WLM-553). This work will include, but is not limited to: cleaning and inspecting diesel fuel storage tanks, modifying firemain system, installing new tube bundles and modifying auxiliary saltwater piping, installing galley equipment and APC fire suppressant interlock system, installing hydraulic power unit emergency stop switches, cleaning gaylord and laundry ventilation ducting, modifying HVAC system, installing refrigerant leak detection and alarm system, installing isolation valves for hydraulic power unit, inspecting and testing hydraulic chain stoppers, overhauling mechanical chain stoppers, inspecting and testing chain in-haul device, inspecting hydraulic griping system, inspecting, servicing, and testing small boat davit, inspecting and testing buoy crane, modifying sewage system piping, preserving diesel fuel tanks, completing XPO stateroom modifications, providing temporary logistics. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued under full and open competition procedures. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 18 March 2002. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted in the CBD.
