- NA The Department of Defense (DoD) and CECOM Acquisition Center-Washington (CAC-W) announce a Defense Travel System (DTS) informational opportunity that is available to any current DoD Travel Management Service provider or any interested party considering a proposal submission to the DoD DTS Travel Management Services solicitation. This solicitation is currently in the planning stage. Interested large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this DTS PNR-Gateway Verification process. Partici pation in this informational opportunity is voluntary; however, participation in the verification process will be a proposal requirement for the conduct of future DoD DTS Travel Management Services. The DOD DTS Travel Management Services solicitation will identify requirements to provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to perform official Travel Management Services for the DoD. Travel M anagement Services will be provided for all authorized official travel performed by DoD travelers assigned to organizations in their respective travel areas. The DoD has established 18 travel areas and anticipates awarding multiple contracts from the soli citation, with the potential to award one contract per travel area. Multiple travel areas may be awarded under one contract if doing so is in the best interest of the Government. The verification process being offered is designed to give the Commercial Travel Office (CTO) an understanding of the DTS concept and functionality and will validate the transfer of travel requests from DTS to the Global Distribution System (GDS) utilized by the CTO. After completion of the DTS PNR-Gateway verification process, each current DoD CTO may, at their option, 'connect' to the DTS and receive travel requests electronically through DTS at those locations designated as DTS Pilot Sites.
