Description
Amendment No. A002 to EMV-2002-RQ-0011 is issued to provide answers to questions asked by prospective sources and to extend the date for responses to this RFQ. Question: Please clarify that the Government is needing a KU only capable antenna. Answer: Yes, KU only. Question: Does the Government really desire two each waveguide kits? Answer: Yes, the Government wants two kits. The Government has an existing KU band dish that we want to outfit with quick disconnects. Question: Vertex manufactures two type of waveguid kit. One to provide for waveguide hook of the feed TX port down to a boom mounted RFT, the second extends the waveguide run to the edge of the reflector and then includes a section of twist-flex W/G to extend this to an equipment case on the ground. Which waveguide kit do you need? In either case, is the second kit a spare for the first, or do you want to extend the RX port beyond the feed - if so, where to? Answer: The Government desires the second waveguide kit described above which extends the waveguide run to the end of the reflector and then includes a section of twist flex W/G to extend to an equipment case on the ground. Question: What is the nominal length of the 2 each waveguide kits required or are you looking to procure only the quick-release flanges to mate with the 2.4m Flyaway and your existing WR75 waveguide? Answer: The information provided in the question/answer preceding this question/answer should answer this particular question. Question: Is the quick disconnect waveguide for a boom mounted HPA or should it go to the end of the feed boom for a rack mounted (in a case) HPA? Answer: It should got the end of the feed boom for a rack mounted HPA. The date and time for receipt of responses to this solicitation is extended to March 15, 2002 (Friday) at 10:00 AM EST.
