Description

STANDARD ISSUE SPECTACLE FRAME. Commercial, off-the-shelf frame that will replace the current military S-9 frame. The new spectacle frame shall be: a) available in a range of sizes and temple lengths, b) available with and without nose pads, c) composed of ophthalmic plastic material, d) available with either skull or cable temples and, e) male/female or unisex. The temple shall not restrict peripheral vision. No color is specified, but should be suitable for military use. The Government objective is to procure a frame that meets commercial standards such as the ANSI Z-87.1 or comparable ASTM standards. Interested and qualified sources should submit six samples to: Naval Ophthalmic Support and Training Activity, ATTN: HMC John Nickerson, 160 Main Rd, Suite 350, Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown, VA 23691-0350, Phone No. 737-887-4435. Samples must be received by April 15, 2002.
