Description

This is a synopsis for ship repair under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The request for quotation (RFQ) number is DTCG80-02-Q-3FAC17. Award will be made to the responsible contractor whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, will be most advantageous to the government, price and other factors considered. Price and Technically Acceptable factors will be used to evaluate offers. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336611. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The RFQ package and specifications will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about March 27, 2002 at http://www.eps.gov/. Hard copies will be provided only upon approval of a written request to the contracting officer, Mr. Louis Romano. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, services, and competence necessary to perform homepier dockside repairs to the USCGC BLACKBERRY (WLI 65503), a 65 foot Inland Buoy Tender. The cutter?s homepier is located in Caswell Beach, North Carolina. Work items include but not limited to the following base and options items: Base items: (1) Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel and Oil Tanks (2) Remove and Dispose of Fuel (3) Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks (4) Overhaul Mechanical Chain Stoppers (5) Inspect Various Deck Fittings (6) Renew Quick Acting Watertight Doors (7) Repair Main Hold Hatch (8) Install Remote Start/Stop Switch for Crane HPU (9) Remove Boiler Exhaust Pipe Stack (10) Repair Bulwark Stiffeners and Plating (11) Travel and Per Diem. Option items: (1) Preserve Diesel Fuel Tank(s) (2) Preserve Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks (3) Composite Labor Rate. The performance period is 28 days and is expected to begin 5 June 2002. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested hard copies of drawings. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Program. Small businesses are encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirements. ?ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
