Description
NA The U.S. Army Technology Applications Office at Fort Detrick, MD is issuing this notice as a Request for Information announcement. There is no intention of issuing a solicitation or awarding a contract at this time. We are looking for a contractor who can provide a fully integrated Ku satellite system. The requirement is for an antenna 100 centimeters or smaller in diameter, cross-pole transmit and receive (horizontal/vertical) 70 MHz or L-Band IF interface, satellite modem, and a standard data interface c apability. The system design shall comply with the DOD Joint Technical Architecture (JTA). In addition to meeting the requirements of this specification, the system shall be packaged to be transported by one person and be set up in less than 30 minutes. - System shall acquire satellite beacon within 5 minutes after set up - The system shall meet the following minimum operating standards: - 60 degrees of azimuth movement, - a satellite modem capable of BPSK, QPSK, OQPSK, and 8PSK modulation, with Reed-Solomon coding and error correction, sequential decoding at rates of ?, ?, 7/8, an RS-422/449 data interface, and capable of operating at IBS and IDR data rates up to 2 Mbps, 70 MHz or L-Band IF interface ?System shall use Ku band carriers; meeting SYRACUSE, International Telecommunication Satellite Organization (INTELSAT), Pan American Satellite Organization (PANAMSAT), Eutelsat, and Domestic satellites. The system shall also operate with the Wideband Gapfiller satellite system when the space segment is operational. - System shall operate using 24Volts DC and 120/240 VAC 60-440HZ. - System (modem, Upconverter, amplifier, antenna, and feed assembly) shall pack up into one container of approximately 70 lbs. - Interested vendors may contact Mr. Patrick Grove at pat.grove@tao.army.mil.
