Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with The University of Hartford, Hartford, Connecticut, for technical assistance services. This is an extension of a previous contract to study various aspects of cylindricity and small-structure measurement. This project includes all aspects of the problem ranging from mathematical modeling of cylindricity errors to development and characterization of new probes that extend our measurement capability. This requirement is to follow up on new avenues of research identified under the previous contract. The period of performance is from date of award through July 1, 2002. F.O.B. Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland. This is a sole source with the University of Hartford because this is an extension of a previous contract and only Hartford University has the expertise, knowledge and personnel to finish the project in the required time. Interested persons may identify their capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government shall consider all responses received by the date identified above. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is not available. See Note 26.
