- Description
- The USCG Maintenance and Logistics Command, Pacific in Alameda, CA, proposes to contract for the Drydock and Repair of the MLB 52313, homeported in Westport, Washington, and the MLB 52314, homeported in Ilwaco, Washington. Drydock and repairs will be geographically restricted to a shipyard within 225 nautical miles of the boats? homeport moorings. Performance is expected to commence on 08 July 2002 and complete no later than 26 July 2002 for the MLB 52313 and to commence on 05 August 2002 and complete no later than 23 August 2002 for the MLB 52314. The repair anticipated involves the following work items: Gas Free Certification, Sea Trials, Deck Reinforcement, Fuel Tank Clean and Inspect, Potable Water Tanks Clean and Inspect, Port and Starboard Strut Barrel Modification (MLB 52314 only), Propeller Shart Removal and Installation, Strut and Stern Tube Bearing Renewals, Generator Saltwater Cooling Pump Suction Piping Replacement (MLB 52314 only), Electric Meter Calibration, Sea Valve Test/Overhaul/Renewal, Fuel Oil Dec Fill Piping Replacement, Rudder Bearing Renewal, Hull Plating (Underwater Body Preserve ? 100%), Zinc Anode Renewal, Temporary Services (Drydock Provide), and Haulout and Underwater Body Work. On or about fifteen days from the date of this synopsis, an Invitation for Bid will be issued in accordance with Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program (SBCDP). For Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, the Department of Transportation (DOT) Minority, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
