This announcement constitutes a sources sought synopsis. The following information is provided to assist the United States Air Force, Aircraft Directorate in conducting market research of to identify potential sources for Cloths, Cleaning, for Aircraft Primary and Secondary Structural Surfaces that meet requirement below. This is neither a Request For Proposal (RFP) nor an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The United States Air Force in conducting market research of to identify potential sources for cloths both woven and nonwoven absorbent materials supplied in the form of cloths. Primarily for use cleaning smooth or textured, metallic and nonmetallic surfaces preparatory to processing operations which are sensitive to residual surfaces contamination. Cloths are not intended for use on transparencies. The Aircraft Directorate has an estimated requirement for three (3) types of cloths: a. Used White Jersey/Interlock made from recycled white tee shirts. Requirement for this type of cloths is 1,600 lbs every two (2) weeks, 3,200 ? 3,600 lbs per month, approx. 43,200 lbs per annual. b. Heavy bath blanket 100% cotton large loose knit, size 20? x 24? or larger, with great absorbency and very low lint, use for prepping planes before painting. Requirement for this type of cloths is 1,250 lbs every two (2) weeks, 2,500 lbs per month, approx. 30,000 lbs per annual. c. Used colored knit jersey/interlock made from recycled colored tee shirts, use for cleanup grease. Requirement for this type of cloths is 750 lbs every two (2) weeks, 1,500 lbs per month, approx. 18,000 lbs per annual. Subject cloths must be conformed to Spec. AMS3819 Revision B, January 2001. Interested parties are requested to submit two (2) copies of an unclassified response (limited to 10 letter size pages) within 15 days after publication of this notice to OO-ALC/PKOC, 6038 Aspen Ave Bldg 1289 N. E., Hill Air Force Base, Ut., 84056, Attn: Nittya McKinley-Wilson, Contracting Officer. Please note that release or distribution of your response to other than the Contracting Officer must be approved by the Contracting Officer. Request for further information regarding this announcement should be directed to the contracting officer.
