- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with Tao of Digital, Inc., P.O. Box 183 Jamestown, CO 80455 to acquire an arbitrary bit stream generator. The arbitrary bit stream generator is specifically designed to operate a NIST Josephson voltage standard system and directly bias superconducting Josephson junctions at 4 K temperature. The instrument must operate at 10 Gbit/sec bit rate with a DC to 10 GHz bandwidth. It should have 8 Gbit RAM in which to store single or multiple bit codes. The instrument must also be able to synchronize at 160 MHz with existing and comparable units. Additional required specifications are available upon request. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures (NTE $100,000). FAR Clauses in full text are at http://www.ARNET.gov/far/ . This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. No award will be made on the basis of requests in response to this notice. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.
