- Description
- THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 4 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR 1 HAZARDOUS MATERIALS WALK-IN FREEZER DESIGNED WITH A BASE THAT IS AN INDEPENDENT LOAD SUPPORTING SYSTEM. MUST BE RATED FOR OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT IN HOUSTON, TX. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to questions no. 21-23 submitted by potential offerors. Questions and answers 1-20 have been posted under amendment 2. Question 21. The required internal dimensions and the required external dimensions do not allow for placement of the refrigeration-condensing unit. Several previous questions have been asked regarding this matter with the answer being to refer to section 2.a of the specification. Can the condensing unit skid be located adjacent to the environmental chamber or can it be remotely located? Answer 21. Yes, either is ok as long as you are prepared to set it up for us. We want a finished product. If an additional "footprint" is needed, then the manufacturer may separate conditioning system, temperature recorders, etc? into different units from the basic structure that is limited to fitting within these external dimensions; however, those separate units as well as all necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials and certifications to connect up those separate units on site while following all applicable NASA Johnson Space Center site requirements are responsibility of manufacturer. Question 22. The specification requires electric defrost. With the possibility of explosive vapors inside the room, would hot gas defrost be a better option for this application? Please advise. Answer 22. No comment. Question 23. The rooms will be installed on a 6" high structural base. The insulated floor panels will be 4" high. This will provide an overall height of 10" above grade. Do we need to provide a ramp? Please advise. Answer 23. No you do not need to provide a ramp. However, you may be able to sell a ramp if you itemize the basic requirements and show the cost of the ramp separately. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS). Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office 97 format and reside on the World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
