Description

The intent of this contract is to secure services to survey and monitor willow flycatcher (WIFL) nesting locations on the Tahoe National Forest, Toiyabe National Forest, and Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. Monitoring will include determining the presence or absence of WIFL's; their nesting success and adult and juvenile survival through weekly field visits. This contract is to be issued in support of the Forest Service's obligation to manage Sensitive species. The contractor shall work closely with the Forest Service to execute WIFL monitoring that is consistent with Sensitive species management. Contract is planned to begin June 1, 2002 and conclude February 28, 2003. Nest monitoring will be completed every 5 to 7 days beginning June 15 through August 31. Requirements include 3 months of field surveys/nest monitoring and writing a final report summarizing results. All field data and a final report will be submitted to the Tahoe National Forest Wildlife Program Manager by February 28,2003. Estimated solicitation issue date 04/15/02.
