Description
The FAA is seeking qualified contractors to establish new Remote Communications Outlet (RCO) facilities at Redwing, Minnesota, Marshfield and Platteville, Wisconsin. Work consists of but is not limited to the following for each location: 1) Furnish and install one 40? self-supporting galvanized steel antenna support Remote Communication Outlet (RCO) Tower, 2) Furnish and install reinforced concrete tower pad foundation and building pier foundations, 3) Install Government-furnished 12?x24? pre-fabricated metal equipment building (This will require coordination with the building supplier), 4) Furnish and install underground radio frequency and power cables from the new tower to the new RCO equipment building, 5) Furnish and install grounding and lightning protection system, 6) Furnish and install a 160?x160? perimeter fence, 7) Construction of a crushed rock access road, parking/turnaround area, and 8) Other miscellaneous civil, mechanical and electrical work as requ! ired. Offer range is between $280,000 to $320,000 with a performance time of approximately 120 calendar days. Construction start is expected to be in the June 2002 timeframe. Interested firms should request a pre-qualification Screening Information Request (SIR) Application No. DTFA14-02-R-34240. Requests will be honored via fax (847/294-7801) or letter only. No telephone requests will be accepted. REQUESTS FOR THE SIR PACKAGE WILL BE ACCEPTED ON OR BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS MARCH 29, 2002. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer (RFO). The RFO is anticipated to be available by May 2002. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economica! lly disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
