Description
FedBizOpps Notice for publication March 2002 GSA's National Travel Forum 2002 -Excellence in Government Travel and Transportation General Information Document Type: Special Notice Solicitation Number: Announcement Posted Date: Classification Code: R - Professional, administrative, and management support services Description GSA'S NATIONAL TRAVEL FORUM 2002 EXCELLENCE IN GOVERNMENT TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION. The National Travel Forum 2002: Excellence in Government Travel and Transportation (NTF 2002) will be held June 17-20, 2002, at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. NTF 2002 is co-sponsored by the U. S. General Services Administration's Office of Governmentwide Policy, the Interagency Travel Management Committee (a forum of approximately 100 Federal travel, transportation and financial policy managers), and the Government Executive magazine. NTF 2002's mission is to provide a forum for travel, transportation and other professionals within Federal, State, and local governments, as well as the private sector, to network and explore best practices on travel and transportation issues. Nearly 1500 attendees will join us at NTF 2002. Much of this year's focus will be on travel and transportation safety, electronic travel, the Federal Premier Lodging Program and revised travel and relocation rules, e.g., a new law that authorizes Federal employees to retain frequent traveler benefits and other promotional items earned on official travel. We will also be looking at best practices in Government travel and transportation, including retirement of the Government Bill of Lading (GBL) and adoption of Commercial Bills of Lading (CBLs), implementation of order entry systems and unique numbering systems, as well as a full range of other travel and transportation-related topics. Participants will explore innovations and continued improvements in travel and transportation. Additionally, NTF 2002 is providing free space to hold agency-wide meetings. Don't miss this unique opportunity to attend and exhibit! To register, visit the web site at www.nationaltravel2002.org. Point of Contact: Rachel Lacer, NTF 2002 events coordinator, 1-800-315-4333.
