Description
NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for a Benchtop/Mobile "Two-Pressure" Humidity Generator to be used in the Ames Calibration Laboratory at NASA Ames Research Center. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/ARC intends to purchase a Benchtop/Mobile "Two-Pressure" Humidity Generator from Thunder Scientific Corp., 623 Wyoming Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123 under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) based on the fact that the Thunder Scientific System has unique features that meet the requirements of the Ames Calibration Laboratory. The Thunder Scientific Benchtop/Mobile "Two-Pressure" Humidity Generator is comprised of Controlog Automation software, mobile cart, air-compressor and NIST Traceable certificates of calibration. It is critical that the unit purchased has a capacity of generating humidity form 10 to 95% from 0 to 70 degrees C, with an accuracy of 0.5% in order to calibrate the high precision dew point sensors and chilled mirror units. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 1:30 p.m. local time on March 28, 2002. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
