Description
NA NOTE: This project is an 8(a) sole source solicitation in accordance with Small Business Administration (SBA) guidelines. Savannah District has selected the firm J.J. Sosa, 5811 Memorial Highway, Suite 207; Tampa. Florida 33615. Telephone number 813-888- 6525 Facsimile: 813-881-1285. The solicitation will not be advertised on the Savannah District web site. Plans and specifications will be available only through the selected 8(a) contractor. Any interested contractors or vendors are to contact J.J. Sosa directly to receive information concerning scope. DO NOT SEND REQUESTS FOR THE SOLICITATION TO THIS OFFICE. Description of Work ? This a U.S. Army MILCON project. It provides cyclical repairs to an indoor firing range facility on Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Work includes complete interior lead abatement and clean-up of the interior of the building prior to ini tiating the repair work. Repairs include repair by replacement of the following features: 1) rubber conveyor belt panels which form the containment of a granulated rubber-filled wall cavity system; 2) gum rubber curtains; 3) AR-500 hardened steel panels; 4) rubber flooring covering material; 5) wooden stair stringer systems at one interior location and one exterior location; 6) ventilation system louvers; 7) fire sprinkler heads; 8) interior fluorescent light diffusers; 9) interior electronic lighting dimm er/control system (computer-base); 10) exterior security camera system; 11) replace a wooden shed approximately 4-feet by 4-feet; 12) restoration of railroad tie exterior wall; 13) repair of an approximately 120 square feet built-up roof area. New work inc ludes installation of a suspended galvanized metal catwalk and a metal spiral stair system; installation of a steel cantilevered weather cover with standing seam metal roof (SSMR) in the exterior courtyard area of the facility; installation of a Honeywell- compatible FS-90+ fire alarm panel and detectors. The existing comprehensive interior ballistic wall system comprised of the gum rubber curtains/conveyor belt panels/granulated rubber/AR-500 steel panels are an approved ballistic wall system designed and installed by Caswell International. Estimated cost range of the project is $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Work will require phasing and scheduling for access to the facility, and full-time escort by government representatives. The construction drawings are in s tandard English dimensions. Amendments to this solicitation will be provided to the selected 8(a) contractor. The solicitation will be provided to J.J. Sosa on or about 1 April 2002.
