Description
NA The technical descriptions of the items are as follows: Charge, Demolition, Flex, Linear, M58A3, NSN: 1375-01-133-4189, DODIC M913 and Charge, Linear, HE, (C-4), M59, NSN: 1375-01-117-8612, DODIC: ML25, PN:6120618. The M58A3 and the M59 are both mine clea ring line charges (MICLIC). The MICLIC is used to clear a path for tanks, vehicles, and personnel through minefields or other obstacles. The MICLIC consists of a linear demolition charge assembly, deployed from a steel container, by a rocket motor. The c ontainer is used for transportation and storage. The demolition charge assembly consists of sets of C-4 blocks assembled together along a 350 foot nylon rope/detonator cord assembly. The major manufacturing processes for the demolition line charge assemb ly are storage, handling, and extrusion of composition C-4. (FYI-The MICLIC utilizes the same extrusion process that the M112 demolition block and the M183 demolition charges use. The M58A3/M59 Charge Assembly, the M112 Demo block, and the M183 Demo Char ge Assembly all share the same extrusion process. Market research is being conducted on all three items based on the commonality of this extrusion process. The announcements for the other items are also posted in FEDBIZOPS.) The C-4 is extruded into pelle ts (halves) for the MICLIC items and solid blocks for the M112 Demolition Block and the M183 Demolition Charge. The C-4 pellets (halves) for the MICLIC items are then assembled to tension core rope, detonating cord assembly, encasement sleeves and packed i n a container with a fuze assembly and miscellaneous parts. Additional information regarding the above item can be requested from the above POC. A respondent to this market survey should be able to show that they have adequate technical capability, manufac turing capacity and good past performance in the explosives processing industry, as an indicator of your qualifications. A respondent to this market survey must have available, a majority of the skills and facilities required to manufacture this item. Inte rested companies who have the necessary capabilities should respond by providing the following information; a brief summary of your company’s capabilities, description of facilities, personnel, and related manufacturing experience; estimated minimum and ma ximum monthly production quantities, estimated prices, and the minimum procurement quantity (MPQ) required for production. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc) available, the respondent must be able t o demonstrate his ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must also meet these criteria. This information shall be submitt ed within 30 calendar days from the date of this publication to: US ARMY OPERATIONS SUPPORT COMMAND, ATTN: AMSOS-PRD/FRANK HOLLEY, (COMM) 309-782-2212, (DSN) 793-2212, E-mail: holleyf@osc.army.mil, BLDG 350, ROCK ISLAND, IL 61299-6000.
