- NA The technical description of the item is as follows: - Charge, Demolition, Block, M112, 1.25LB COMP C-4, NSN: 1375-00-724-7040,DODIC: M023. The M112 is, used for general-purpose demolition such as cutting steel or timbers, and breaching concrete. It is, also used for underwater demolition. The M112 is a re ctangular shaped block of Composition C-4. The explosive component of the above item is C-4. The major manufacturing process for the above item involves storing, handling and extruding Composition C-4. The C-4 is extruded into blocks for the M112 and M183; and pellets for the MICLIC items. (The M112 utilizes the same extrusion process that the M183 Demolition Charge Assembly and the M58A3/M59 Flexible Linear Demolition Charge uses. These three (3) items share the same extrusion process. Market research is b eing conducted on all three items based on this commonality. The other announcements are also posted in FEDBIZOPS.) The C-4 blocks for the M112 are then packaged individually. Additional information regarding the above items can be requested from the above POC. A respondent to this market survey should be able to show that they have adequate technical capability, manufacturing capacity and good past performance in the explosives processing industry, as an indicator of your qualifications. A respondent to th is market survey must have available, a majority of the skills and facilities required to manufacture this item. Interested companies who have the necessary capabilities should respond by providing the following information; a brief summary of your company ’s capabilities, description of facilities, personnel, and related manufacturing experience; estimated minimum and maximum monthly production quantities, estimated prices, and the minimum procurement quantity (MPQ) required for production. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, manufacturing, personnel, etc) available, the respondent must be able to demonstrate his ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of sub-tier vendor s or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontractors must also meet these criteria.
