- NA The technical description of the item is as follows: - Charge, Assembly, Demolition, M183, NSN: 1375-00-926-3985, DODIC: M757. The M183 is used for general-purpose demolition operations such as reducing small obstacles, cutting, breaching, and cratering. The M183 charge assembly consists of sixteen (16) M112 Demolition Blocks and four (4) M15 Priming assemblies packed in two (2) M5 Charge Bags. The major explosive component of the above item is C-4. The major manufacturing process for the above items involves storing, handling and extruding Composition C-4 with some minor assembly. The C-4 is extruded into rectangular blocks for the M112 and M183 ; and pellets for the MICLIC items. (The M183 uses the same extrusion process that the M112 Demolition Block and the M58A3/M59 Flexible Linear Demolition Charge uses. These three (3) items share the same extrusion production process. Market research is be ing conducted on all three items based on this commonality. The other announcements are also posted in FEDBIZOPS). The C-4 blocks for the M183 are packaged into M5 Charge Bags, which are then assembled into a M85 carrying case, with M15 priming assemblie s. This makes up the M183 Demolition Charge Assembly.
