Description
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has a requirement for seventy-five (75) SIG P239 handguns, or equivalent. Per Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 11.104, this is a brand name or equal acquisition. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: sub-compact, mechanically-locked, recoil-operated, semiautomatic, .40 S&W, double-action/single action trigger, automatic firing pin lock, 6.6 inches length, 5.2 inches height, 1.2 inches width, 3.6 inches barrel length, 1 in 15 inches rifling twist, 6 rifling grooves, 5.3 inches sight radius, 27.4 ounce weight w/o magazine, 2.4 ounce weight empty magazine, SA 4 lbs/DA 9.5 lbs. trigger pull, 7 rounds magazine capacity, blackened stainless steel finish, night sights and four (4) magazines. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format at FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation to be issued. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 02-TR-0021 and is being issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The provisions and clauses applicable to this RFQ are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 01-04. This is a full and open competition; there will be no set-aside requirements. The applicable NAICS code is 332995. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Offers will be evaluated based primarily on price, but other factors that may be evaluated include customer service and warranty. The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
