Description
Provide Architect & Engineering (A/E) Services for the design development, program submission, preliminary drawings, working drawings, specifications, including cost estimates and construction period services to facilitate award of construction contract for the renovation of the EYE & ENT Clinics at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois. This project entails the renovation of both clinics and the relocation of the ENT Clinic to another location in Bldg. #200. The Clinics are currently co-located on the 1st floor in Bldg. #200. Upgrade and renovate both clinics to meet current healthcare standards, utilizing the VA Healthcare Planning Study performed independently by VA Consultant. The approximate area for the Eye Clinic is 6,000 gross square feet. The approximate area for the ENT Clinic is 4,000 gross square feet. The work shall include the survey, asbestos abatement, demolition, wall alterations, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, equipment, fire protection, life safety and communications systems. Comprehensive CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) services including a full time IH during abatement shall be provided. The A/E shall also provide construction period services. All Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Life Safety, Health Care Codes including JCAHO, NFPA, etc. must be adhered to. This scope also includes all necessary design coordination with all other VA projects in the area. The approximate cost for the construction of this project is $1,000,000 to $2,500,000. Area of consideration is restricted to 100 miles of VA Hines Hospital, Hines Illinois. Submit two (2) copies of SF254 & SF255 with appropriate documentation by Close of Business April 19, 2002. Selection criteria will be based on (1) Past Performance on similar projects, maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (2) Overall engineering design experience and capability with architectural, mechanical and electrical renovation projects; (3) Qualifications of staff to be assigned, with special emphasis on field personnel to be utilized; (4) Knowledge in design and construction requirements; and (5) Cost control effectives. No bid packages are available. This is not a Request for Proposal. NAIC #541310 applies. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
