- Description
- The Naval UAV Technology Coordination Team is reconvening the NAVAL UAV Advanced Technology Review Board (ATRB) to consider technology candidates for transition to UAV systems under their cognizance. The purpose of the board is to review emerging technologies and facilitate early transition planning for those with high potential to meet current and future requirements. The Topic Areas for the "Call for Technical Papers" are: Topic #1: UAV Wide Area Surveillance of Maritime & Land Targets. This topic area includes: a) Payload operator queuing capabilities; and b) Algorithms and interfaces for quickly and accurately detecting/passing wide area target hits to a narrow field of view sensor for detection/classification/identification. Submissions should address payloads and sensors that support detection and classification of targets under camouflage and foliage. Topic #2: UAV Highly Autonomous Command and Control. This topic area includes: a) Dynamic, autonomous in-flight re-planning and threat reaction and "no-link" operations; b) Collaborative/cooperative operations and inter-operability connectivity with manned and unmanned aircraft; c) Autonomous flight and mission management; and 4) UAV in-flight package re-planning and coordination, advanced vehicle autonomy, inter-package distributed processing. Submissions should address intelligent, autonomous vehicle control, autonomous multi-vehicle coordination and management of multiple unmanned vehicles. Submission of technical papers shall be accomplished via the Technology Submission Form at the NAVAIR PMA-263 ATRB website: http://uav.navair.navy.mil/. All submissions must be submitted in the format provided in order to be considered for evaluation. Augmenting diagrams, photos, or graphical information or other technical information may be submitted via e-mail attachment(s) to uavatrb@pax.hjford.com. Augmenting graphics must be in JPEG format and shall not be larger than 1 MB in total. The e-mail must reference the submission to be considered for evaluation. Submissions for these topics will be accepted for 30 calendar days after the CBD announcement release date. The web page hyperlink, which is currently active, is constructed to provide an electronic receipt to the submitting party. If your submission is classified, please contact Captain Jose Orozco, USAF (telephone: 301-757-0432) for submission instructions. The ATRB process is being established throughout the Naval Aviation Community and has proven very successful in establishing better transition linkage between the Science and Technology (S&T) and Acquisition communities. The two previous UAV ATRB "Call for Papers" considered 113 technical submissions of which the Board selected 24 for Endorsement. Your participation and support will insure continued progress as we strive to provide the best capability to the UAV community for our S&T investment. You may contact Captain Jose Orozco, USAF at 301-757-0432 for questions regarding this initiative.
