Description

This solicitation is for the removal and replacement of the cooling tower and condenser, located on the roof at building 449 at the Naval Submarine Base New London, Groton, CT. The work includes modifications to the air handling unit, steam piping and structural support for the cooling tower, provisions for the trap, installation of the new steam heating coil and air handling control, and incidental related work. The contractor shall provide all labor, management, supervision, and equipment to perform the work. NAICS: 235110 Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning Contractors. Small Business Standard: $11.5 million. This solicitation will be issued unrestricted and subject to FAR 52.219-4 Notice of Price Evaluation Preference for HubZone Small Business Concerns. The approximate solicitation release date is 04 April 2002 and the due date is an estmated date only. This solicitation will be available in the Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) electronic file format only which can be downloaded from the official website at http://esol.navfac.navy.mil. The free Acrobat Reader required to view .pdf files can be downloaded from the Adobe website. Only those contractors who register and download the solicitation from ESOL will be notified by e-mail when amendments to the solicitation are issued. An official Planholders List will be maintained on-line and can be printed from the web site. Questions about this solicitation MUST be submitted in writing and may be faxed to (860) 694-3938, Attn: M. Soohoo. Contractors are required to register in the Department of Defense (DOD) Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database. Failure to register in CCR may render an offeror ineligible for award of DOD contracts.
