Description
The International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC), United States Section, requires the furnishing of labor, materials, equipment and supervision for the construction of phase II of the replacement of the water distribution system at the Falcon Field Office. Construction of phase II consists of, but is not limited to the construction of new 6, 8 and 10 inch PVC water lines and connection to the existing lines; Construction of gate valve assemblies, combination air valve assemblies, blow-off assemblies, hydrants, and appurtenances materials. The work also includes furnishing all materials, excavating, laying pipe, jointing, hydrostatic testing, backfilling and compacting, boring or jacking across a highway, placing pipe in steel casing at highway crossing, restoration of disturbed facilities such as fences, surfaces, and other disturbed facilities, disposal of all surplus excavation and discarded materials, placing pre-cast utility manholes, and other work necessary to complete the work. Falcon Dam is situated on the International Boundary United States section, approximately 100 miles west of Harlingen, Texas. Work under this contract will not require the Contractor to enter the Republic of Mexico. Tentative dates for issuing and closing IFB 02-05 are April 12, 2002 and May 14, 2002, respectively. The work under this contract is to be completed in 180 calendar days from the date of issuance of Notice to Proceed. The estimated price range for this requirement is between $250,000 and $500,000. Plans and specifications will be available for inspection, without charge, at the International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Section, The Commons, Building C, Suite 224, 4171 North Mesa Street, El Paso, Texas 79902-1441. Request for IFB, specifications and drawings should be submitted in writing by April 5, 2002 to the International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Section, Attn: Irma Gurrola, at the preceding address. No telephone or facsimile request will be accepted. There will be no charge for the solicitation packet. Offers are solicited from small business concerns. Offers received from businesses that are not small business concerns will not be considered. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 234910 for Water, Sewer, and Pipeline Construction. The associated small business size standard is 27.5 million dollars annual average gross receipts for the past three years. A pre-bid conference and site visit will be held.
