Description

This solicitation will be procured as a Commercial Item as defined by Part 12 of the FAR. This will be a Performance Based Service Contract (PBSC). This NAICS code for this solicitation is 113210 and the size is $5.0 million. The project is for the final removal of unwanted vegetation (weeds) from: (a) seedling beds (1-0, 2-0, and transplant), tractor paths, and seedbed ends, and to place those weeds in designated piles at the ends of the seedling beds. It is estimated that there is 92,800 linear feet (LF) that requires weeding monthly; (b) grass seedling beds (4 drill rows) of which there are an estimated 35,700 LF; and (c) headlands, the unwanted vegetation being Star Thistle. There are an estimated 4.13 acres of headlands located around 4 different blocks of seedlings that require Star Thistle removal. The period of performance is May 2002 through October 2002 at the Placerville Nursery of the Eldorado National Forest. The contractor must be registered with the Department of Labor as a Farm Labor Contractor. The Placerville Nursery is located at 2375 Fruitridge Road, Camino, CA 95709. There will be no pre-bid walk/tour, however, Linda Price, Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR), may be reached at 530-642-5043 to arrange to view the site. The solicitation package will be available approximately April 4, 2002 and responses are due by April 15, 2002 by close of business (4:30 pm).
