NOUN: Vane Segment Compressor; NSN: 2840-01-486-1840NZ; P/N: 4086222-01; QTY: 12; U/I: Each; DELIVERY: JUN2003 to Tinker AFB, OK; APPLICABLE TO: F100PW229 Engine. SIZE/DIMENSIONS: approximately 2.5 inches high X 2 inches wide; PREDOMINANT MATERIAL: Titanium Alloy; FORM/FIT/FUNCTION: Compressor stator-2nd stage, is part of The ?229 inlet fan. It diverts inlet air to the aft stages. Anticipated Solicitation issue date: 11APR02. Anticipated award date: 11MAY02. No telephone solicitation requests will be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved sources. The Government is not required to delay contract award to review pending SourceApproval Requests (SARs). Therefore, offerors are encouraged to submit SARs as soon as possible. If the Government has not completed review of the SAR when the contract is awarded, the SAR will be retained and the source will be reviewed for possible Source Approval for future awards. Government Furnished drawings are not available. TO: Pratt and Whitney, East Hartford, CT. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program manager or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
