Description: NA The Fiscal Year 2002 Defense Appropriations Act provides approximately $11.5M to the Department of Defense Medical Chemical and Biological Defense Research Program. FY 02 MCBDRP Announcement invites preproposals through three specific areas: 1) Genetically Engineered Threat Medical Countermeasures - efforts that are directed toward compiling a prioritized list of function-related structural elements that constitute the known toxins and virulence factors of BW threat agents; 2) Medical Countermeasures (Thera peutics) - enhances our current efforts in the evaluation and development of medical countermeasures against bacterial and viral threat agents; and 3) Vaccines - augments our current efforts in the evaluation and development of vaccines against bacterial a nd viral threat agents and development of improved vaccine delivery systems. It is anticipated that no individual award will be more than $1M inclusive of direct and indirect costs, with a maximum period of performance of two years. A pre-proposal must be submitted by the deadline established of May 1, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. EST. The pre-proposal format is available at the USAMRMC Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) 02-1 on the internet at http://www.usamraa.army.mil and can be sumitted online. The specific MCBDRP B AA with complete description of the requirement, submission and evaluation is also available at this internet site.
