Description

This is a notice of intent from the Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD 20670 to negotiate with General Electric Aircraft Engines, on an other than full and open competition basis, for continuing development and demonstration testing of a Trapped-Vortex Combustor for the F414-GE-400 engine. A Cost No Fee contract will be awarded for the procurement of these items. This requirement is being procured under statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition, 10 U.S.C. Section 2304(c) (1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Basic research and development has been performed by GEAE under an Air Force contract. GEAE is the only known commercial source that possesses the expertise, knowledge and F414-GE-400 technical data to perform the required effort. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
