Description
Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to Replace Transformers Buildings 29 & 50, according to the specifications. Work includes replacement of two padmount oil filled transformers. The Contractor must take any and all measures to assure the transformers are replaced within four (4) hours, start to finish. In general, the new transformers are to be similar in configuration to the existing so that the existing primary feed and secondary cables and lugs can be reused. The Building 29 transfomer includes a main breaker on the secondary side, which may be reused. VA electricians will be on site during this project to de-energize the 13,800-volt primary loop to these transformers and to operate emergency generators. It is the Contractor's responsibility to witness this process and to check the Building 29 & 50 transformer cables on both the primary and secondary for stray voltage and to ground out the conductors prior to handling transformer conductors. The existing transformers will become the property of the Contractor, and they shall be removed from the Medical Center property at the Contractor's expense.
