Description
NA The Volpe Center intends to issue, through Simplified Acquisition procedures, a sole source procurement to Mechanical Dynamics, Inc., Ann Arbor, MI, to provide for two (2) years, renewal of license and contract for maintenance, enhancement and support for ADAMS software and its software modules ADAMS/View, ADAMS/Animation, ADAMS/Linear, and ADAMS/exchange. Small Business firms classified under NAICS Code 541519 that are interested in receiving a quotation Package must demonstrate in writing that they can provide the Adams Software, Software modules and licenses as stated above. Small business firms will be required to respond by April 9, 2002 in order to receive a copy of the solicitation. This proposed action is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate wi th only one source under the authority 6.302. This notice of intent in not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice received will normally be considered, solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in order to receive a copy of the solicitation . This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $18.0 million per contract. The DOT provides 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. for further information and applicable forms concerning Bonding Assistance Program and/or the STLP, please call the OSBDU at (800) 532-1169.
