Description
SYNOPSIS: Summary: Design/build for an Emergency Egress ladder for a Coast Guard watchtower. Area is in a high violent crime area of the docks, and so requires a retractable section of ladder that is tamperproof from below.Specifics:Location: New Orleans, LA Purpose: Secondary Emergency Egress Length: 37' (no landing required per local OSHA inspector)Loading: Per OSHA standards. Additional items: Walk-through, flare top onto catwalk surrounding watch hut at top. Cage ending 7-8 feet from ground. Ladder attach to existing building and CG watchtower. Watchtower is 37' tall, with no good place to attach ladder again until building roof at 26' 5". Horizontal members of building at @ 6' vertical spacing. Existing conditions at site and distances. Special items: Last 10 foot section at bottom must be retractable, with a mechanical panic release at top of ladder. CG will arrange for third party to install. Request shipping to New Orleans, LA be included in quote. Required deliverables: Design of ladder, with LA Professional Engineer stamp & signature on drawings. Submit final drawings within 14 days of the Notice to Proceed. With signed drawings, CG will seek permission from Port of New Orleans before ordering fabrication of ladder system. Once Port of New Orleans grants permission to install proposed system, CG will order fabrication and shipment of ladder system. Ladder shall be shipped with one (1) set of all required drawings and instructions for erection. The performance period is fifty-eight (58) calendar days from award date. The estimated price range is less than $25,000. Award will be made to the responsible, responsive quote based on best value to the government.. This solicitation is being issued as an Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by this agency.
