Description

NA The project involves the demolition of the existing main pier and removal of piling, construction of a new pier, and performs minor dredging at Fort Eustis, VA. The existing pier is a 100? by 1,000? wooden pile structure with a concrete deck and utilities . The new pier will be 85? by 720? with a 100? by 152? ?L? (76,400 SF), will be constructed of reinforced concrete with a prestressed concrete pile foundation. The pier will provide electricity, lighting, communications, potable water, sanitary sewerage, mooring bollards, bitts, fendering, permanent oil boom, and bilge water sewerage. An existing ramp will be modified and two new ramps will be constructed. Approximately 25,000 cys of dredging will be required to remove material exposed by the demolition o f the existing pier. The dredged material will be placed in the Fort Eustis placement site. The contract duration is 730 calendar days. The magnitude of the project is between $15,000,000.00 and $20,000,000.00. This is an UNRESTRICTED SOLICITATION. NA ICS Code 234990 applies. The solicitation will be provided in an electronic format. The media through which the Government chooses to issue this solicitation is via the Internet. The solicitation will not be issued in paper format. Notification of amen dments may be made by facsimile, floppy disk, compact disk and/or postings to the Internet. The media selected for solicitation amendments shall be solely at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, as separate notifications for each amendment may n ot be sent to planholders, bidders shall be responsible for monitoring the Internet for amendments. Pros pective contractors must be registered in the DOD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award.
