Description
. The U.S. Geological Survey has a requirement to contract for employee assistance services to support the Bureau's Employees Assistance Program (EAP). This requirement is a 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 621330. These services include the initial assessment of an employee's behavioral/emotional problems, short term consultation and/or intervention, referral to the appropriate community or professional resource and employee follow up. The counseling/aessment/intervention services are performed on site in Reston Virginia with off-site counseling to be performed in the local area. Adequate staffing on site is required Monday through Friday between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The counseling services shall also be available for employee families when necessary to assist the employee. During Non-duty hours, an answering service must be available on a 24 hour 7 days a week basis. to meet emergency needs using a toll free telephone number. Answering machines are not acceptable. The Contractor is expected to work with the Government's EAP staff on the coordination and conduct of the program. The contractor will be required to provide supervisory training on the use of the EAP program, education/prevention training on health related topics such as alcohol abuse and alcoholism, drug addition, emotional problems, coping strategies, elderly care and similar topics selected by the Government and Drug Free Workplace Training. The contractor is also required to publicize the program by developing appropriate literature. A solicitation will be available on or about April 3,2002.
