The U.S. Geological Survey, Geologic Division has a requirement for digital geologic map data production services, specifically the digitization of hardcopy geologic source maps into Topologically Structured ARC/INFO (TSAI) digital datasets. The contractor shall be required to prepare the source map for digitizing and attributing, including close inspection of its contents by a geologist as necessary. Due to the variety of equipment used to perform digitizing work of the type required, and the associated varied production techniques, all preparation of digitizing media is the responsibility of the Contractor. On the spot consultation with the USGS is needed to resolve questions about what was recorded on the map and how best to represent the information in the digital files, and the source materials are one of a kind and represent years of work by several geologist, therefore the contractor?s work site has to be within a 100-mile radius from the Denver Federal Center, Denver, CO. Performance period is for twelve (12) months plus two (2) additional twelve (12) month option periods. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to Denver, Colorado. Written requests for the RFQ must be submitted either by U.S. mail, e-mail or fax at (303) 236-2710 and must contain the RFQ number (02CRQQ0092), the requester?s name, complete street address, telephone and fax number. Telephone requests for the RFQ will not be accepted. It is anticipated the RFQ will be available on or after April 8, 2002, an original plus three (3) copies of the quote will be requested. See Note 1.
