Description

*This is a modification to a previous solicitation posting in the CBD. The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), intends to award on a sole source basis a contract option period of twelve (12) months to the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HMJF) to provide personnel, supplies, equipment, and all services necessary to support a continuing effort for the development of the National Simulation Center's Virtual Reality Operating Room. The contract option period shall be awarded as a follow-on research project from the USU to the HMJF. This contract option period is in compliance with Public Law 92-426, entitled "Uniformed Services Health Professions Revitalization Act of 1972" and 10 U.S.C. 178 and 2213 (j) (1) (A), which authorizes USU to award contracts on a sole source basis to the HMJF. The authority for this award permitting other than full and open competition is found at 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(5), "Authorized or Required by Statute". See Note 22.
