Description

The U.S. Coast Guard intends to procure specialized modification to Coast Guard owned M16 rifles and munitions in support of Homeland Defense initiatives. The contractor shall modify, test fire, clean, and preserve 8 M16A2 rifles. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This acquisition will be made on an Unrestricted Basis. See Numbered Note 22 : The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This proposed procurement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Leitner-Wise Rifle Company, 1033 North Fairfax Street, Alexandria, VA, 22314. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
